Quincy Art Center
The mission of the Quincy Art Center is to educate the public by promoting the growth and appreciation of the visual arts through exhibitions and programs.
The Quincy Art Center, located at 1515 Jersey, is home to two galleries, the Elizabeth M. Sinnock Gallery and the Katharine Gardner stevenson Gallery. It is also home to spacious studio space and the Petite Boutique Gift Shop. Gallery hours are noon-4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday while exhibits are on view.
The Art Center proudly hosts a variety of exhibits throughout the year, including Quincy Area Collects, Mary S. Oakley Area Artists Showcase and Permanent Collection Choices. Guided tours led by our knowledgable staff are available by appointment and provide an entertaining and rewarding experience for all ages. Opening receptions and gallery visits are open to the public for a two dollar donation for adults and a one dollar donation for seniors and students.
Other activities hosted by the Art Center include a variety of classes and workshops. There is an art club for middle school students. The Tour and Hands-On Connection provides a fun and educational field trip for elementary school children. The ARt on a cArt Outreach Program puts dedicated professionals into the schools to help inspire and teach children about the importance of the visual arts.
The annual Beaux Arts Ball is the major fundraiser for the Art Center. It offers an opportunity for hgih school aged girls to become active in the arts and the community. The ball is a fun social event always held during the holiday season.
