John Wood Community College
The state-of-the-art Paul Heath Community Education and Fine Arts Center is home to the John Wood Community College Fine Arts Department. JWCC offers an Associate in Fine Arts (A.F.A.) degree in music education and music performance as well as an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree for students who plan to major in the arts and transfer to 4-year colleges. Students interested in learning more about the arts or in improving their skills are also welcome to enroll in JWCC fine arts classes.
The fine arts curriculum includes classes in music, art, and drama, and a new Associate in Applied Science degree in Graphic Design was recently added. Three performing groups --Concert Choir, Vocal Show Ensemble and Jazz Band -- concertize on campus and participate in an annual spring tour. All groups are open to qualified students -- both music majors and non-majors.
