The In$tant Art$ Dollar$ program, sponsored by the Quincy Society of Fine Arts, will award a total of $10,500 in the 2009-2010 school year. Teachers can request up to $100 to visit a museum, to bring in an artist or have a workshop in their classroom.

The In$tant Art$ Dollar$ program is funded by the Stillwell Foundation, the Community Foundation of the Quincy Area and the business and individual members of the Quincy Society of Fine Arts.
Teachers should remember the following guidelines for applying for In$tant Art$ Dollar$:

• Written applications will be accepted from teachers for one trip to a museum or cultural event like a Muddy River Opera or Quincy Community Theatre production and for the visit of one artist to the classroom. Requests will be accepted for up to $100. There will be no phone calls to apply for funds. Applications will be accepted the week of September 21-25 and should be postmarked no earlier than September 18. Applications postmarked before September 18 will NOT be considered for funding. Grants are considered on a first-come, first-serve basis and schools will be notified if the grants coming from their school have been accepted. Funds will be sent one month prior to the event.
• Teachers are required to have definite dates set before asking for funds.
• Funds cover artists coming to the classroom, but do not cover supplies that might be required for the art lesson.
• In$tant Art$ Dollar$ will no longer fund transportation to museums or arts events. Teachers should check with other sources for transportation funds.
