Quincy Riverfest

Fun for the entire family is available during Arts/Quincy Riverfest held annually the third Sunday in September along Quincy’s beautiful riverfront. The one-day free celebration of the arts and the Mississippi River has something for every age and every taste. Riverfest 2010 is scheduled for Sunday, September 19, 2010.  Artists and vendors interested in exhibiting at Arts/Quincy Riverfest may call for an application.

The festival, sponsored by the Quincy Park District, Refreshment Services Pepsi, and the Quincy Society of Fine Arts, attracts 7,500 individuals from the tri-state area.  The festival includes the Family Fun Zone, with hands-on art activities for children; three stages of entertainment; over 100 booths of artists, crafters, arts organizations and local groups; and tasty treats from a variety of food vendors.

Blaine Troup was selected as the First Place Winner at Arts/Quincy Riverfest 2009 on September 20th.
         "Blaine's photography exhibited an eye for detail," described judge Jewel Gwaltney. " His work displays outstanding creativity and skill"

        Tanya Pshneychny of Peoria Heights, Illinois, an acrylic mixed media artist, was awarded Second Place Artist.

Ron Cook of Quincy received Honorable Mention for his pottery.

          The Mississippi Thespians were selected as the QSFA member organization winner. Their booth included Civil War Reenacters performing for Riverfest attndees.
