Marion Gardner Jackson Trust Arts Fund
The 2009 Marion Gardner Jackson Trust Arts Fund guidelines follow. The program is funded with $10,000 from business and individual members of the Quincy Society of Fine Arts. Matching grants will be awarded for arts projects taking place in Quincy, Illinois.
The deadline for application is MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2009 for projects taking place between June 1, 2009 and June 1, 2010.
QSFA will award a total of $20,000 to arts projects that will increase community access to the arts, foster artistic excellence through cooperative programs, demonstrate a direct economic impact on the City of Quincy, and evidence cash matching funds to complete the project.

| Following are the Quincy Society of Fine Arts' 2009 Marion Gardner Jackson Trust Arts Fund Program Guidelines and Application Forms. Please read carefully before completing. Matching grants will be awarded for arts projects taking place in Quincy, Illinois. The deadline for application is March 30, 2009 for projects taking place between June 1, 2009 and June 1, 2010. The Quincy Society of Fine Arts works to foster,
strengthen, and expand Adams County's visual, language and performing arts. QSFA responds to the needs of 65 arts and humanities organizations for audience expansion, centralized services, cooperative programming, and information delivery. QSFA takes the initiative in exploring new possibilities for community arts involvement, developing opportunities for employment in the arts, and expanding resources available to artists, arts groups, and special constituencies.
QSFA sponsors cooperative programs to develop new audiences for our member organizations, and job opportunities for individual artists such as Arts=Education, Arts/Quincy Riverfest, Arts Week, Art$ Dollar$, All - American Kids Awards, Annual Arts Calendar, City of Quincy Arts Awards, Arts/Quincy publication, TV/Radio arts commercials, Ticket/Information Center, the Rave! television program, and the 24-Hour Fun Line, 228-ARTS.
The Quincy Society of Fine Arts' national award-winning programs: (1) expand our local economy, (2) strengthen
education, and (3) insure cost-effective arts programs and services for everyone!

| WHO WE FUND |
Non-profit community based organizations
that are located in and serve Adams County,
Illinois.
Groups of two or more who apply as a
consortium presenting a single application to
effect a joint solution to a common problem. |
FUNDING
PRIORITIES
|
QSFA will give special priority to:
*** New arts programs of exceptional artistic merit that increase access to the arts,
*** A consortium presenting a single application to effect a joint solution to a common need,
*** Projects that can demonstrate a direct economic impact on Quincy, and
*** Applications that evidence substantial cash matching funds to complete the project.

| THIS GRANT DOES NOT FUND |
* For profit organizations.
* Applications that are incomplete and not signed.
* Capital improvements, purchase of real property or supplies, permanent equipment, and
accumulated deficits.
* Projects that are part of the curriculum
of schools, colleges and universities.
* Arts Education programs in schools.
* Projects which are considered hobbies
or of a therapeutic and/or recreational nature.
* Expenses incurred prior to project start date.

REVIEW PROCESS
AND CRITERIA |
The panel composed of leaders from every segment of the community will review and rank each application and make recommendations based on the following criteria:
*** Quality of Project:
Will be broadly defined and determined by support documentation submitted by applicant as judged in relationship to the applicant's artistic goals.
*** Community Support:
May be demonstrated by attendance of community residents at previous performance and exhibits, or letters of support.
*** Potential Impact:
Applicants who most clearly connect their project goals with ongoing activities will be given priority.
*** Ability to Complete the Project:
Will be judged by the applicant's past accomplishments as well as description of strategies or plans for successfully carrying out the proposed project.

* Documentation of the proposed project, (brochures, resume of consultant, fees, etc.)
* History of Organization (New Applicants to QSFA),
* Articles of Incorporation (New Applicants to QSFA),
* Proof of Tax-Exempt Status (New Applicants to QSFA),
* Annual Report to Secretary of State,
* Current Board of Directors (New Applicants to QSFA),
* List of Key Staff (New Applicants to QSFA),
* Annual Budget for the fiscal year for which project funds are requested.
